MIG: When paired with an ArcReach® 8 or 12 (or other voltage - sensing feeder), the CV output of the power source enables MIG process capabilities.

Using the Miller Maxstar 280 Multiprocess Welding Machine is easy. First, make sure you've connected the power source correctly with the included 8 - foot primary cord. For different welding processes, like MIG, you'll need to pair it with an ArcReach® 8 or 12 or other voltage - sensing feeder. When setting the weld parameters, use the Pro - Set™ feature. Just select it and adjust until Pro - Set shows up on the display. This takes away the guesswork.
For stick welding, you can change the arc characteristics with the tailored arc control (DIG) to suit different applications and electrodes. The Hot Start™ adaptive control helps start the arc without sticking.
When it comes to DC pulse welding, activate QuietPulse™ to reduce noise. And the Blue Lightning™ high - frequency arc starter gives you reliable and consistent arc starts.
Remember, the cooling system, Fan - On - Demand™, only works when needed. This saves energy and keeps the machine clean.
As for maintenance, keep the machine in a dry place. Check the cords regularly for any signs of damage. And when not in use, store it properly with the adjustable shoulder strap for easy carrying and storage.
