Description
The Fronius iWave is a state-of-the-art, fully digitized AC/DC air-cooled TIG welding machine, perfect for aluminum welding. With power options from 170 to 500 A, it offers a range of mobility, from portable units to high-power stationary systems. It has a versatile multi-voltage power supply, working with both 120V and 230V. The iWave features a tough design and an easy-to-understand operating concept.
Active Wave Technology
Active Wave makes TIG AC welding quieter. Its digital signal processor calculates the waveform in real-time for high arc stability and low noise. Even at 300 A, the noise level stays below 80 dbA.
TAC
TAC allows quick tacking with just one spot. The pulsed arc moves the weld pools together rapidly, great for welding thin sheets without filler metal.
HF Ignition
Touchless high-frequency ignition is the easiest way to start the arc.
Touchdown Ignition
Useful for sensitive areas, it avoids electromagnetic interference that can occur during HF ignition.
Automatic Cap-Shading
This function automates cap-shaping when welding aluminum, saving you time. You can set the size.

Using the Fronius iWave 230i is a breeze. First, connect the power supply to either 120V or 230V, depending on your needs. Attach the torch and ground cable properly. When starting the arc, you can choose between HF Ignition for an easy start or Touchdown Ignition for sensitive applications. For tacking, use the TAC function - just one spot and the weld pools will come together quickly. When welding aluminum, take advantage of the Automatic Cap-Shading function to save time. You can set the size according to your requirements. While operating, the 4.3' color display will give you clear information, and you can change parameters easily, with graphic feedback right away. Remember to wear gloves for safety. As for maintenance, keep the machine clean and free of debris. Check the cables regularly for any signs of damage.
